There could be fantastic news for classic car owners as the government is currently reviewing the system of MOT certificates, it is said for anything lower than 1960 the law could come in. The scrapping of the MOT would mean better prices for older vehicles. The EU rules will make allowances for governments to set their own standards for vehicles and it will be mean rules are being considered at the moment leaving the classic cars MOT hanging on the edge at the moment.

Transport Minister Mike Penning is unsure of the consultations at the moment and said that the classic cars MOT will be shortly decided of what will happen to the car and if these vintage vehicles will be allowed to go MOT free. It could lead to more dangerous incidents but with only the classic cars making 0.6% of the UK market up its hardly a massive figure but we would we start to see a massive up rise in older cars. There are around 35.2 million British cars on the road and with this scheduled to increase year by year we wonder if it would be such a great idea.
